Inertia
An object will stay in moment unless acted upon by an outside force.
I would say about 80% of the things I do everyday, if not more, are automatic. I don’t think about my socks. I don’t think about my coffee. I don’t think about my checking emails. I don’t think about checking social media. It all just happens as a habit.
We need habits as shortcuts. If we needed to engage in a long drawn out self-negotiation every time we were deciding whether or not to do something, we’d never do it. Our brain power would be shot.
Inertia however, is amoral. Bad habits can compound as easily as good habits can. Bad thoughts compound as easily as good ones do. Be careful of where your inertia is taking you.
